Cherie Silberberger
Cherie Silberberger was born and raised in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, California. She attended the Los Angeles City College and the University of California, Riverside where she studied Liberal Arts and took drawing, etching, ceramics, and stained glass classes. She holds an Associate of Arts degree. Cherie is inspired by the abstract works of Modigliani and Picasso, by the rich color palettes of van Gogh and Matisse, and the chiaroscuro, the stark light to dark contrast, of Rembrandt and Vermeer. She uses a variety of different media including pen, ink, oil pastels, crayon, acrylics, ink wash, etching, though her preferred method is drawing with a Bic black pen on Strathmore drawing paper. Doing so requires careful planning of the composition and the areas of light and dark. Cherie says that decisiveness is key when creating art. She lives and works in Talent, Oregon.
