Erin Linton
Erin Linton grew up in Lincoln, Oregon. Since childhood, she enjoyed spending time bird-watching in the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument. After she rescued an American Robin, her interest in wildlife became her vocation and she continued to learn about and rehabilitate the injured animals. She started experimenting with painting as a way to explore her interest in art but also to highlight the beauty of birds. Her technique combines the process of de-acidifying used tea bags that are used as a background with India Ink wash, then painting with gouache. Erin prefers the tea bag paper for its texture that helps relay the softness and warmth of bird feathers. Part of her proceeds goes directly to the Badger Run Wildlife Rehabilitation in Keno, Oregon.
